Furano
Located in central Hokkaido, Furano is a great year round tourist destination. In winter the ski resort attracts visitors from around the world and in summer tens of thousands of domestic and international visitors flock to see the incredible spectacle of vast, carefully cultivated fields of flowers. The snow conditions in Furano are fantastic due to its inland location and temperatures that stay well below zero. Furano offers an excellent alternative to Niseko for skiiers and snowboarders wanting to get away from the crowds and get a slice of rural Japanese culture. Access to Furano is straight forward with frequent buses and trains running from Sapporo.
