Kurodake
Kurodake is a backcountry paradise for those who love hiking, touring, steep lines and powder.
The mountain is accessed by a ropeway and a double chair. The mountain is unpatrolled and below the ropeway there is no easy way down. The double chair offers a little groomed terrain and some short but fun powdery lines. If you are interested in getting into the 'extreme' stuff a guide is recommended.
The areas scenery is nothing short of spectacular and the village offers some fantastic Onsen opportunities. For more information check out our feature on this unique resort.
NB. Kurodake is closed for a significant part of January and dates seem to change year to year so be sure to call ahead of time.
