Rishiri Island

Rishiri and Rebun Island are found at the northern tip of Hokkaido just west of the city of Wakkanai. Access to the islands is via ferry, which takes about an hour and a half from Wakkanai. Both islands are known for their site seeing and hiking with Rebun often visited for its wildflowers and Rishiri for hiking around and on 1721meter Mt Rishiri a dormant classically conical volcano. Both islands offer a unique experience and as well as hiking Mt Rishiri (to the top or not) cycling around the island is a highly recommended activity.
